Collaboration with Kai Restaurant & Bar

Kai restaurant and bar was established in 2016 by Marshall Muir Nadya Koltakova.  When inspired by the beautiful space at 232 Main Street, once occupied by Alex and Ani, they set out create a concept inspired by a NYC bar.  Muir and Koltakova employed the services of The Kind Spirits to help execute their vision and add an element of quality craft cocktails and food with superior hospitality.  Upon working together for the duration of 2016, Muir and Koltakova took on Jason Kindness as managing partner and the rest is history.

The Kind Spirits still operates offering private mixology classes on-premise at Kai Restaurant and Bar as well as off-premise and private and public settings.

The Kind Spirits (TKS) will create a unique beverage experience for your perfect day and will coordinate the details with an inclusive Mixology 101 class and a private tasting to custom design your wedding cocktails.

PRIVATE EVENTS

MIXOLOGY 101

Whether it’s a private class, private event, or you visit us in Rhode Island, TKS offers a Mixology 101 class with over 400 graduated students!

Mixology 101 started in 2014 as a Saturday afternoon class taught at The Revolving Door Restaurant in Newport, R.I. by Jason Kindness and is now taught at Kai Restaurant and Bar in East Greenwich, RI.  Participants have an opportunity to go through a tasting, asking questions, and finally rolling up their sleeves and making a cocktail of their own!

Classes are still offered on some Saturdays which you could book at Kai Restaurant and Bar in East Greenwich, RI or by checking the Calendar and purchasing online.

Mixology 101 is also available in your home or at your business function and can be tailored to your event. Jason Kindness has designed and executed this course as a demo or team building activity at corporate events for Fortune 500 companies and worked closely with their event planners. Dewolf of Thames Street

This cocktail was inspired by the spicy miso noodle dish at Boru restaurant in Newport Rhode Island. Kindness was intrigued by the umami flavor of miso and wanted to pair it up with a painkiller style cocktail. It was meant to be a one week special, 2 years later it has appeared in several national magazines and has become a mainstay on The Revolving Door menu.

Malt Whitman

Jason came up with this drink back in 2010 when no one wanted to drink bourbon. So he tried taking the edge off of the spirit by adding complementary ingredients and making a smoother cocktail. 10,000+ sales later, this iconic drink now appears on several restaurant menus across the area.

Daisy Buchanan

This is a newer cocktail meant to make a lady, or gentlemen, exude elegance as they imbibe upon this timeless treat. Egg white is used in this cocktail to create a foam and beautiful flowers to accentuate the floral essence of this beverage. • Gin • Strega • Peychauds • Fresh Lemon • Egg White

Ponyboy Curtis

This is a cocktail we came up with once the temperature started to drop in fall of 2015 during a tribute to the film “Outsiders”. We wanted to do an updated version of the classic hot buttered rum, one of the visiting chefs at the Revolving Door was working with brown butter so we tried incorporating it into this winter libation.
